Boys Swim Team Members Will Compete at State on Friday

Samuel McMains, 10, starts the final lap of their event at a meet at Blue Valley Northwest on Jan. 27. They focused on stride showing the consistent training and dedication they put in throughout the season.

Tag Solberg, 11, is heading to state to compete in the 100 backstroke and feels confident going into the meet. “They usually take the top 24 people in each event to get into state and the fastest times get in,” Solberg explained. Jameson Bruce, 9 will also compete Friday in the 100 backstroke and 500 freestyle.

State qualification reflects months of discipline, practices, and pushing for faster times. Solburg and Bruce’s dedication shows how consistency and hard work lead to big oppurtunities. Competing among the top swimmers in each event highlights the level of competition and the pride of representing their school.

Hi! My name is Wren Zerr, I’m a sophomore and this is my first year in SPUB! I’m a reporter which means I get to interview people and write stories that highlight student voices. Last year, I took Journalism 1 and really enjoyed  learning how to share stories that help our school stay informed and connected.  I am most excited to meet new people through interviews and to collaborate with our staff.. Journalism matters because it keeps our student body updated, informed, and interested in what’s happening within our school and community. Outside of SPUB, I serve as the  STUCO executive board secretary, and I’m also involved in HOSA, Hype Squad and band. Outside of school, I love traveling,  watching sports, and spending time  with friends and family. I can’t wait to make new memories through SPUB this year!
