As of Thursday, Feb. 26, Kansas will mandate that individuals use bathrooms and locker rooms that match sex at birth. The state however, did list seven reasons for entering bathrooms and locker rooms of opposite sex. A first violation offense will result in a warning, with a second violation resulting in a 1,000 dollar fine.
The bill was originally passed in January, but was vetoed by Gov. Laura Kelly on Feb. 13. With changing standards in today’s society, laws like these impact organizations across the state.
