On Wednesday, April 1, NASA’s Artemis II crew took off for the moon. On Tuesday, April 7, astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen captured unseen pictures of the moon and Earth. These astronauts have also traveled the furthest distance from Earth in human history. This historic mission not only expands our understanding of space, but also marks a new era of human exploration beyond Earth.
This mission is important because it shows how advanced space technology can improve our knowledge of space. Images and observations gathered by them may be used for research, to guide future missions, and influence developments that affect the everyday life, such as communication systems, navigation tools, and technology to assist sustainability goals.
