Israel Capital Confusion

Israel+Capital+Confusion

A recent change in Israel’s capital has caused a huge uproar around the world, resulting in riots, the burning of the American flag, and a cut-off of America’s intervention in Israel’s affairs. Last week, president Trump declared that rather than Tel Aviv as Israel’s capital, Jerusalem was to be both the political and religious capital of the country. Since then, casualties across the Middle East, Asia, and the North have increased. Many nations have denounced Trump’s decision and are calling it “dangerous and unacceptable.”

There has been an unrest in Palestine territories, and many Palestine Christians spoke up during Sunday services. Decades ago, the Monroe Doctrine and Roosevelt Corollary were put in place to keep international affairs to a minimal, stating that the eastern hemisphere and western hemisphere were to remain separate, unless a necessary intervention was called for. This one event takes the nation back in history to George Washington’s farewell address warning the nation of foreign entanglements and alliances, which caused troubles in both World Wars, leading to the United Nations and the League of Nations.

There is a continuous outrage over this decision and the end is nowhere in sight. Israel attempted to reach out to European nations for help and got declined, and are now considered a “terrorist state” by Turkey. Updates continue to come.
