The Philippines quickly became flooded due to a torrential rainstorm, causing landslides to occur. At least 42 people have been found dead while 16 people are missing or trapped on their roofs. The torrential rain was caused by the Tropical Storm Nalgae.

The weather caused the coast guard to prohibit sea travel where the seas are becoming dangerous. This happened as millions of Filipinos were traveling overseas to visit the tombs of relatives to celebrate a holiday for the Roman Catholic nation.
