The Oakland Athletics have signed an agreement to purchase 49 acres of land for a new retractable roof ballpark in Las Vegas. This news comes after the organization has tried for years to replace the aged Oakland Coliseum. The site is near the Las Vegas strip and plans to hold 30,000 to 35,000 fans. Las Vegas will be the fourth home for the team following their time in Philadelphia and Kansas City.

The Athletics will leave the Oakland Coliseum just a few years after the Las Vegas Raiders moved out. The Raiders moved from the stadium due to the age of the Coliseum as well as issues with capacity. Fans hope that the new ballpark will provide a better experience and be better for players to enjoy.
