Hi, I’m Mallory Putnam and I’m a junior this year. This is my first year in SPUB, which I am very excited for all of the new opportunities it brings. I might be joining late, but better late than never. I decided I wanted to be in SPUB this year because I like the idea of writing articles and designing the yearbook for all to see. Other than SPUB, I play soccer and volleyball which takes up a lot of my time. I love to hangout with my friends, go to the lake, ski, and just be outside. I feel lucky to be apart of the SPUB family and I can’t wait for what this year brings!

The University of Kansas campus is huge, and two tours are needed to see everything. This map shows a bit of the true size of the campus, but it leaves out the infamous hill (image courtesy the University of Kansas).

One of my senior pictures that we took at the stadium in my uniform. I realize I’m finally one of the “older girls” that I used to look up to when I was younger (photo submitted by M. Putnam).

Although checking a book out this year may look different, it is still just as easy. “Book stacks are closed to students and staff” as the paper says, so you must request a book title to the library staff or use the bookhub form to put a book on hold (photo by M. Putnam).

A throwback to fall homecoming, where the girls on the homecoming court posed for a picture after the coronation. Although it was different, it was still a fun and busy week so hopefully Winter Homecoming will be the same (photo credit J. Wilm).

Bridger Mountain Range in Montana is normally a hotspot for those who enjoy skiing and snowboarding during the winter months. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic they have had to adapt (photo courtesy AP News).

On Nov. 23, Laura Seifert, substitute teacher, stood in for Kelsea Stueve, Spanish teacher's, fourth hour class. Stueve is one of many teachers who find themselves unable to come to school for one reason or another, and high school teachers have had to begin subbing for their coworkers (photo credit A. Kice).

Family game nights have not been a thing in my family for a while with too many busy schedules, but recently, we have been playing lots and lots of dominos. We stayed up until 2am playing the game on the night this picture was taken (Photo Submitted by M. Putnam).

On usd3230.org, there is a whole page dedicated to vaping since it has become such a big problem throughout highschools. It provides handbooks about the harms of vaping, and even phone numbers to call if you ever need help for your kid (Photo Courtesy of USD230.org).
