What If There Was No Fine Arts?

“I believe the arts is what gives us diversity, if they wanted to broaden their qualities and try new things they wouldn’t get the opportunity.”

— Kathryn Lockard

What if we didn’t have the fine arts? In my opinion, this place would be a prison. Allowing no creativity within the district would cause depression; many students use the fine arts as a way to relieve the pain. The fine arts are what makes this school so unique, it allows a way to get involved along with school spirit.

“I believe the arts is what gives us diversity, if they wanted to broaden their qualities and try new things they wouldn’t get the opportunity,” Kathryn Lockard, 12, said.

Students who study the fine arts weekly are more likely to be recognized for academic achievement. Not to mention they wouldn’t be able to get the achievement if it weren’t for some of the many teachers who take the time to help them learn.

“I think their would be a lot of lost kids out there, some kids like sports, some kids like fine arts, for a lot of students that’s why they come to school. If I wasn’t a teacher I would probably be doing farm work,” said Brad Reinking, art teacher.

If you think about it, without the fine arts we wouldn’t be able to get through the day. We wouldn’t have the band to help us get pumped up for our pep assemblies or football games, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the talent show, theater or even music Fridays.  If we didn’t have the fine arts, I know for a fact I wouldn’t be the same person as I am today, mainly because in my belief music is what makes me so outgoing. Therefore, the fine arts are what make this school so personal and full of spirit.
