Taylor Swift’s new re-recorded album, “1989 (Taylor’s Version)”, was released Oct. 27. It’s their fourth re-recorded album. The album picture featured them smiling, which fans were very happy to see because for the prior “1989” album, they opted to not smile.

A lot of people hated the “New Romantics” and “Shake it Off” intros, saying the songs resembled a Kidz Bop album, or AI generated words. I actually really enjoyed “New Romantics” and “Shake it Off”.

The vault tracks were one of my favorite parts of the album. Vault tracks are tracks they wrote when they first released the album, but were not released originally. My personal favorites off the vault tracks were “‘Slut!’”, “Say Don’t Go”, and “Now That We Don’t Talk.” The other ones were really good too, they just weren’t all up there like those three were.

Where I do understand the legal reasoning behind the re-recording process, I think Speak Now and 1989’s release dates should have been swapped.

I personally really liked this album, however it definitely feels like a more summer album, compared to its release date.

Hi! I’m Faye Dent and this is my second year in SPUB. In my first year I improved my writing and interviewing skills, and I’m excited to capitalize on that this year! I’m the lead copy editor for the publications, and I’m really excited to not only edit but work with my copy editing team! My interests in SPUB are more geared toward writing and editing, but I truly enjoy every aspect that SPUB has to offer. Journalism matters because it is a form of self-expression which I firmly believe is important.
