As the end of the semester comes to a close, so does the opportunity to secure a finals opt-out. An opt-out form was sent to every student eligible on Wednesday, Dec.3, and they are due this Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 11:59 p.m..
“Getting an opt-out is more like a journey [that involves] keeping your grades good [the whole semester],” said Jordyn Vanderveur, 12. Earning an opt-out is important to students because it gives students the opportunity to lighten their load during finals, if they meet the requirements set for that class. In addition to class-specific requirements, all students have to maintain an A in the class, have no discipline referrals, and have less than three tardies in total to earn an opt-out.
